I just read the Sylva Herald in Jackson County, NC.  I find two interesting articles coming from
the mountains this week:

  1. The
Steep Slope and Sub Division Ordinances
were passed Monday night by the
board of Commissioners out there 4 to 1, a major defeat in the Property Rights
    battle in

    North Carolina
.  I wonder what will be next, what color
car we should drive?  These Ordinances
are too protect the Mountains from ?EVIL? sub divisions and developers (ENTREPRENEURS) that are going to
cause ?HARM? to the mountains, at least that?s the way they have been portrayed
    they?re going to do.

  1. Now
get this, right out of the Sylva newspaper.  One of these ?EVIL? Sub Division
    Communities is helping
    Western
    Carolina
University do a study on rattlesnakes, that creature that was used by some of the
    Founders as a symbol of
    Liberty in

    America
    .

Interesting don?t you think? A development that is portrayed as being anti-environment, yet actually
helping preserve the mountains, with a symbol for Liberty

.
