The federal government, through the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence against Women, gave $400,000 to the 30th Judicial District Domestic Violence-Sexual Assault Alliance. Eight agencies are listed as beneficiaries in the story from the Mountaineer, and the funds will be used to “help identify” children who have been exposed to abuse and “get them early professional interventions.” The article paraphrased the alliance’s executive director, Sue Fowler:
