Saint Jimmy Carter, the beatific holy man we all know from the mainstream media, is a myth. In truth he’s a vincdictive and spiteful man. I worked in Georgia during his tenure as governor and he was known for his ruthlessness against opponents. As I waited for an interview once in 1973 he was delayed by a state senator. “I couldn’t get rid of the SOB,” he said by way of explanation for his tardiness.

The media also forgets that when Ted Kennedy announced he’d run against him in 1980 Carter’s response, quoted in TIME magazine, was, “If he runs I’ll kick his ass.” Spoken like a true Christian.

In recent years his spitefulness has become more evident. Yesterday’s performance at the Coretta Scott King funeral is just the latest example of how he has become a truly despicable person.
