The Washington Post‘s ombudsman admits the paper’s in-the-tankness for Obama in a column running in tomorrow’s papers. But she glosses over in a single paragraph the irresponsible lack of curiosity that probably ensured Obama’s win:

But Obama deserved tougher scrutiny than he got, especially of his undergraduate years, his start in Chicago and his relationship with Antoin “Tony” Rezko, who was convicted this year of influence-peddling in Chicago. The Post did nothing on Obama’s acknowledged drug use as a teenager.

How many conservative bloggers begged for coverage of those subjects, especially the “lost Columbia years” and Obama’s drug use? Some will give the Post kudos for admitting its bias and abdication of journalistic ethics, but not me. An admission after election day is worth a bucket of warm spit.
