Back during the set-to over releasing the personnel file of Marcus Jackson — ‘member that? — Charlotte city councilman Warren Turner led the charge to keep the file secret, even from council itself. Why? One whispered rationale was that Turner himself had had a clash with a female recruit while at the CMPD academy years before and was very interested in making sure such things did not have any chance of a public airing.

Now Steve Harrison reports — citing unnamed sources — that Turner “withdrew from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Academy in 1988 after internal affairs investigated allegations that he verbally harassed a female recruit.”

Turner is denying this account via his attorney, but refusing to deny that he threaten a female recruit. Those are “details” which constitute “private personnel matters,” his attorney said.

OK. Wonder if the Charlotte city council would like to reconsider having a look at Jackson’s private personnel matters?
