Cato’s Gene Healy hits a home run with this piece on the harm that the welfare state is doing to young people. He starts with conditions in France, where the young have been so completely indoctrinated that most are apparently unable to see that the welfare state there is swallowing their future.
Healy then turns to the US, where Obama is trying to shore up support among younger voters by claiming that his “health reform” legislation will be good for them. The trouble is that most young people will be exploited for the benefit of older Americans. Exploitation of a class! Calling all Marxists!
