Free and reduced lunches in schools never made much sense to me. Then they added breakfast. I’m wondering why, using that logic, they haven’t instituted evening meals. Where does one stop once you go down that road? What about free meals for the parents?

That entitlement mentality was on display once in my wife’s school in Raleigh. They had a “Grandparents Day” and one of the grandparents got upset when asked to pay for her lunch. She reasoned that since her granddaughter was on the free lunch program then she should qualify too. She figured it should be hereditary.

From the evidence, it might already be.
