Let’s just be perfectly clear, if the Charlotte city council finds $8m. in General Fund revenue to spend on a streetcar study this will be, now and forever, a posteriori proof that city government values trains over roads, police, sidewalks, sewers, etc.
This will also be a fun one to watch and see if Anthony Foxx and John Lassiter end up on different sides of the issue.
Update: Mecklenburg County is finally admitting that a property tax hike is on the table for this year. Of course it is.
