No one really knows what impact supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton will have on election day. The vast majority seem to be on board with Sen. Obama, but lingering frustration remains. Last night, some well-heeled Clinton supporters attended a fundraiser with Gov. Palin. From this New York Times blog (emphasis is mine):

Everyone at the reception contributed $28,500 to McCain-Palin Victory 2008, a joint fund-raising committee for the Republican National Committee and several state Republican parties.

While Mrs. Clinton has implored her former supporters to back Senator Barack Obama, some still harbor ill will towards him, organizers said.

“These people want to give their vote of disapproval,” said Mr. Lausell. “This is a way they’re doing it.”

At the same time, National Review columnist Christopher Buckley, son of conservative icon William F. Buckley, has endorsed Sen. Obama and, thus, offered his resignation from the magazine his father founded, and it was accepted.
