God Complexes Run Rampant in Asheville. According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, the federal government has endowed nearly 1200 rights to married couples. The government’s ability to give people rights rather than privileges came out in a story about people who didn’t qualify for marriage under the law protesting discrimination by lining up and petitioning for marriage licenses.
To show their support for the effort, an estimated 300 people gathered Friday afternoon at Roger McGuire Green for a public blessing of same-sex couples.
