It looks like the Obama campaign’s habit of putting smiling white faces behind their candidate when he gives speeches is holding in Reynolds Coliseum right now. In the shot showing as I write this, there are 10 white people and one black person behind the Democratic pretender.
Boy, have things changed. I remember in 1972 that the press just went crazy when it was “discovered” that the Nixon folks had timed the balloon drop at the Republican convention in Miami. That showed, they said, how calculating and devious Nixon was.
UPDATE: A commenter on my daughter’s blog (she was in Raleigh at Reynolds with Obama) had a good question after watching Obama’s speech: “Obama won N.C. with 91% of the black vote. So why were they not invited to the victory party?”
