That would state Sen. David Hoyle on your $32 million U.S. National Whitewater Center. Seems the $1.8 million in public money needed to build a road to the thing is all jammed up.

But the truly fascinating thing is that Marc Basnight and Jim Black and all the local poo-bahs nonetheless found some money for the road. In contrast, say, to the absurd three lane-two lane-three lane bottleneck that has choked Independence Blvd. at McAlpine Creek for, oh, 20 years and millions of vehicles.

Once again the sideshow has over-taken the basic function in terms of what gets done in Mecklenburg and North Carolina. We have a circus for government, and these clowns are not very entertaining.
