In his discussion of the vanishing political cartoonist this morning, News & Observer public editor Ted Vaden quotes the N&O‘s fine cartoonist Dwane Powell thusly:
I would say my point of view is pretty close to the average American.
Any objective person will know how off-base Powell’s self-evaluation is. This phenomenon ? liberal and far-left journalists sincerely believing they are middle-of-the-road ? is what keeps the “mainstream” media from doing anything about the problem.
