State lawmakers have started haggling over the items in Gov. Mike Easley?s proposed 2008-2009 budget. Joe Coletti and State House Minority Leader Paul Stam, R-Wake, will offer their responses to the governor?s proposals in the next edition of Carolina Journal Radio.

Daren Bakst and Geoff Lawrence will also discuss the importance of low-cost energy, and Terry Stoops will respond to state Board of Education Chairman Howard Lee?s recent description of North Carolina?s system of public education oversight.
