Thousands of North Carolinians held signs, chanted slogans, and vented their frustrations about government bloat during a series of tax day Tea Party protests April 15. You?ll hear highlights from a couple of those tea parties during the next edition of Carolina Journal Radio. Becki Gray will also offer her assessment of the Tea Party movement in North Carolina.

Taxes served as a major spark for the tea parties, and one of the state?s most unpopular taxes is under fire in the General Assembly. Sen. Eddie Goodall, R-Union, will explain his efforts to kill the death tax, otherwise known as the estate tax.

We?ll also discuss North Carolina?s transportation challenges with transportation studies expert David Hartgen, and David Bass will offer an update on his investigation of fraud and abuse associated with school lunch programs in the state.
