Today’s Boston Globe has one of the most thoroughly biased stories I’ve seen in a long time.

The headline: “Administration’s stand-up guy is allowed to take fall”

The reporter spends the first three graphs portraying the Tenet resignation as an obvious sign of an administration deeply in trouble, then, without irony, writes this fourth graph: “Democrats were quick to portray the resignation as a sign the administration is in trouble.”

Without offering a single shred of evidence — if you don’t count the speculation of Democrats as evidence — he portrays Bush as having forced Tenet to resign. He even uses the word “neoconservatives”, without putting it in scare quotes.

I’m cutting the piece out and saving it. In case I ever teach journalism, I can use it as an example of what not to do.
