Via Prof. Bill Anderson at Frostburg St. comes word that the Alabama AG has decided to add to the cost of running a convenience store by subpoenaing the gas purchase records of 22 stores, part of a search for the elusive “price gougers.” Can NC’s own Roy Cooper be far behind? Can’t be soft on price gougers now can we?
These state AGs pretty much think in lock-step, one gets an “idea” and they all fall in line behind, at least until the next big thing comes along or state AGs conference, which ever comes first. Kinda like teen-age girls and sleep-overs that way. They all get together one night and — boom! — everyone has blue hair. So remember — state AG, 13-year-old girl — same diff, same critical thinking skills, same insatiable hunger for popularity. Watch out America.
BTW, Prof. Anderson was prompted to send the ‘Bama heads up by my rumination on New Orleans buses and the price of gas.
