Now that they’re backing off a bond to pay for the proposed downtown performing arts center, boosters are now considering a ticket tax.
Looks like it’s basically a $10 million line of credit, not unlike the hotel tax that is allowing for $24 million in upgrades to the Greensboro Coliseum. But it still falls way short of the $50 million price tag. It would also need legislative approval.
They’re getting desperate.
