The IRS, in a paroxysm of sense, announced it is increasing the allowable mileage reimbursement for business travel from 50.5 to 50.8 cents per mile.

Congress, however, has to act to raise the rate for charitable organizations. It stays at 14 cents a mile, the same as it was when I mentioned it in 2005 — and noted the rate hadn’t changed since 2000, then.
