The Guilford County Board of Education is an interesting group. They’re not politically charged like other boards along the I-40/85 corridor, and while some would argue that’s a good thing, the end result is board meetings are total snoozefests. More cynical voices among might argue that they do this so that no one will pay attention, although new board member Ed Price should add a little life.
So it will be interesting to watch the board deal with (yet another) doomsday scenario for 2011. Budget projections dictate that GCS “could lose more than $37 million and almost 300 positions as part of state budget cuts next year.”
Pop some popcorn, this could actually be interesting.
