Last night’s UNC-Wake Forest hoops tilt was available in HD in the Triangle on Time Warner. Not so for Time Warner in Charlotte.
For almost eight weeks I’ve tried to get an answer from Time Warner in Charlotte for the disparity. Despite several emails promising some explanation, I’ve received nothing on why the service differs between the two franchises. As a result, I have no idea if the problem is technical or legal, but as it stands TW Charlotte is delivering demonstrably inferior service to that which TW provides the Triangle.
Specifically, thus far this year, every UNC game which has been broadcast on FSN package has been shown in the Triangle in HD. This is done by bumping the programming offered on the Mojo HD channel and replacing it with the FSN HD feed. Neither TW Charlotte nor TW Triangle offers FSN HD in its HD tier, so the only possible fix it this sort of temporary work-around.
The local franchising authority has been copied on these emails with absolutely no response of any kind.
I blame dook.
