The City of Asheville will be raising the minimum wage it pays, and expanding the applicability of its living wage provisions to all employees. Economists and Just Economics will continue to disagree about the advisability of the move. The increase, if I correctly decipher the syntax, will cost taxpayers $250,000.
The moral of the story is life is a free ride. Contribution is optional.
