Now the Uptown paper of record is touchy about being called Leftist, so I’m willing to roll with the insider-protecting rationale for a little bit longer. Jim Black has to be kept around so he can make sure all those nifty hotel-motel and car rental taxes for Uptown are square with the kleptocrats in the General Assembly. Fair enough, but let’s at least say that out loud.
