The National Education Association (NEA) article about the WDACL is tame compared to this call to arms from the World Federation of Trade Unions.

WFTU demands,

? To stop all the imperialistic wars in Iran, Afghanistan, the attacks against the people of Palestine, the conflicts in Somalia, Chad and Sierra Leone that provoke thousands of children to immigrate to survive.

? To stop the exploitation of the Third World countries by Europe and the USA, which steal the resources from the countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. They steal the children?s dreams.

? Calls on a trade unions and workers to struggle for the establishment of free of charge and universal education systems for all children, as a fundamental human right.

? Urges trade unions to demand the creation of decent jobs and to propitiate the necessary classification of workers, as a way to guarantee the eradication of child labour and the reduction of informal employment;

? Summons trade unions and workers from around the world to demand the reduction of arms budgets and wars, dedicating these considerable resources to the education and welfare of childhood.

In other words, workers of the world, unite!
