The gatekeeper in N.C. House Speaker Jim Black’s office testified this morning that she did not recall seeing any blank checks head to Black’s campaign fund.
Executive assistant Meredith Swindell says she also does not recall ever hearing the speaker talk about directing checks from his campaign to any other candidates.
Another Meredith — former Black political director Meredith Norris — is now on the witness stand.
