Don’t know if you are supposed to feel beter or worse after reading Tim Funk’s dispatch from Washington on light rail. Turns out CATS’ South Blvd. project is not alone in overshooting its budget.
So there is the misery loves company angle, I suppose. But there is also the fact that these projects are always over-budget and over-sold and that the so-called leaders of Charlotte and Mecklenburg were told that repeatedly over the past few years. They opted to ignore that info and plow ahead, wasting millions of taxpayers dollars in the process.
As a result, I vote “feel worse.”
