I’m having a hard time with the notion that there will be any significant confusion over the language on the ballot to repeal the half-cent transit tax.

Like Jim Puckett says, to the extent there is any confusion, it should cancel itself out. That is absent some evidence that one side of the vote is significantly more prone to confusion — or in plain talk, is dumber — than the other side. I certainly do not believe that to be the case.

But it sure sounds like the pro-tax side wants to build up at least the possibility that voters will be hopelessly confused by the ballot. The Uptown paper of record is certainly flogging that angle. And that makes a certain amount of sense as both the status quo and the paper believed that signers of the petition had been duped into signing.

Now are we preparing argue that voters might be duped into voting for repeal?

Sounds like it to me.
