Today, the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) released test results from the Trial Urban District Assessment (TUDA). TUDA evaluates student performance in fourth- and eighth-grade mathematics and reading in twenty-one large urban school districts. Charlotte-Mecklenburg (CMS) was the only North Carolina district included.
CMS test scores for fourth- and eighth-grade math and reading were not significantly different from their average scores in 2013.
Overall, CMS exceeded the national average score in fourth- and eighth-grade reading and math, although some would argue that CMS is not comparable to a number of districts included in TUDA testing (see below).
