I’ve just heard of two other high-profile public figures who have passed.
On the national front, Rose Director Friedman, wife of Milton, and an accomplished economist on her own, died at age 98.
At the state level, I’m told former state Rep. Bob Hensley, D-Wake, has died after a lengthy battle with cancer. In my former life as a TV reporter, I always enjoyed chats with Hensley, who was willing to grant interviews that either countered Republicans or challenged the decisions of N.C. House leaders in his own party … depending on the issue.
