WRAL reports:

Two people were taken to UNC Hospitals Sunday night after four shots were fired on Franklin Street.

The shooting occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. near T.J.’s Campus Beverage and Caribou Coffee at 110 E. Franklin St., during an informal event known as “After Chill,” which followed Chapel Hill’s annual Apple Chill Street Fair.

Witnesses said they heard shots and that people started running from the scene of the shooting. Nearby businesses also shut down for the night.

Authorities said that one shooting victim was shot in the chest and grazed on the head by a bullet. The other victim was shot in the back. Their identities, as well as their medical conditions were not immediately known. It also was not immediately known whether police had apprehended anyone in connection with the shooting.

How many campus rallies will be held in honor of the victims or to protest the laws? Or will those require a political component ? something along the lines of race, class, sexual preference or gender (well, except for “plain ole” rape), or some “perfect storm” combination first? Will Political Overcorrection require manufacturing an issue of whether it’s “proper” to call this shooting a shooting? Let’s see.
