Fascinatingly different editorial takes on the whole Democratic Party sexual harassment issue by the state’s two big McClatchy papers:

The Charlotte Observer’s editorial focuses on Gov. Bev Perdue’s role in all this. It begins:

A profile in courage it is not.

Gov. Bev Perdue was a day late and a dollar short expressing concern about sexual harassment allegations at N.C. Democratic Party headquarters.

Make that four months late, and party leaders would rather not mention dollars.

The Raleigh News & Observer seems to have missed that little fact and sees some smoke, mainly made by Republicans in their view, but very little fire, writing in part that:

The facts of what occurred (or didn’t occur) are so murky that it’s hard to judge whether the settlement was an appropriate way to resolve the complaint. But party bigwigs understandably are frustrated at having been kept out of the loop.

Ahem, okay. Nice to see they’re kind of paying attention up there to events happening a couple blocks from their own offices…
