A unanimous three-judge panel of the N.C. Court of Appeals has affirmed a trial court ruling against Belhaven and the NAACP in a dispute involving the closing of a local hospital.

Among other opinions released this morning, a unanimous three-judge panel issued an “unpublished” opinion — one with limited precedential value — that will allow a company operating in Onslow County to pursue its lawsuit against the local sheriff and state Alcohol Law Enforcement. The company wants the courts to declare that its video gaming kiosks do not involve gambling and are not subject to be shut down by the state law against video gambling.
