Per the Herald-Sun today,

…university leaders, legislators and N.C. School of Science and Mathematics trustees [may] agree to a proposal to make the Durham school a constituent member of the state university.

Science and Math trustees could vote on the idea as early as March 10, and if the university system’s Board of Governors and the General Assembly go along, it’s possible that the school could be a UNC campus in time for the 2006-07 academic year.

This is the kind of post that makes certain folks blubber about “hostile mockery.”
If that happens, George, that would raise the number of high schools effectively in the UNC system to what ? 9, 11, 16 or 17, depending upon how strict your criteria are?
