UNC-Wilmington
has been named in a wrongful death lawsuit in connection to the death
of Jessica Faulkner in 2004. The lawsuit also named James E. Dixon,
III, who is an official at UNC-Charlotte, in the lawsuit. Dixon is the
father of Curtis Dixon, 21, who was awaiting trial in Faulkner’s death
before he killed himself. James Dixon is said to have submitted an
application for Curtis Dixon to UNC-Wilmington that withheld some of
his past problems on other campuses.

This case is interesting
because it has already led to policy changes regarding safety on
campus. It’ll be interesting to see how this on pans out.
