Professor Moorad Alexanian has a letter in the News & Observer expressing his displeasure over the university’s budget cutting decision to merge two academic departments, while apparently (the administration isn’t readily disclosing this information) continuing to ladle money into such non-academic endeavors as the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
Higher ed has its sacred cows. “Diversity” may be the most sacred of all.
