Democratic Reps. David Price and Brad Miller, hopping on the blame-Palin-and-the-Tea-Party bandwagon the other day, each said they had received threats due to the alleged coarse tone of recent political debates. Somehow I doubt these were serious threats, more like the imagined threat Miller reported during the height of the early Tea Party demonstrations.
But Sarah Palin’s death threats are another matter. With all the networks, many mainstream media columnists and liberal talkers demonizing her for imagined complicity in the Arizona shootings, she is getting REAL death threats. After two years of demonization by everyone from President Obama to Jon Stewart, it is highly likely that there are a few Jared Loughners out there thinking about making the left-wingers’ wishes come true.
If that were to happen, how much of the blame would these Palin haters assume for the tragedy? How much would the media point the finger at Chris Matthews, Paul Krugman and The New York Times? As liberals whine about the “vitriolic” speech in political discourse, they simultaneously demonize Palin and the Tea Party in the most vitriolic and violent terms. Anyone see any irony there?
The extent of the damage they have caused can be found on Twitter, where it’s been a field day for people who want to see Palin killed. One of the tweeters who wished for her death is now complaining because she has gotten national attention via YouTube in a video made to expose these crazies.
No, these are not some vague email that Price and Miller imagine to be threats, these are actual desires to see Palin dead. If I were Todd, I’d think twice about getting the family on the RV and roaming Alaska without security. The left is just too crazy.
