Fortunately, there was a miscommunication. The commissioners only proposed a moratorium on certain land uses. A public hearing on the matter will be held Friday at 2:00pm. All abnormal persons who don’t have to be at work at that time are welcome to advocate for their interests.
The moratorium would be in effect until the commissioners could get their unpopular zoning of the county, ruled to have been instituted illegally, instituted legally. The “undesirable uses†are:
1) Adult entertainment
2) Amusement parks
3) Asphalt plants
4) Chip mills (not sawmills)
5) Concrete plant
6) Hazardous waste sites
7) Incinerators
8) Junkyards
9) Landing strips
10) Mining operations
11) Motor sports facilities
12) Outdoor shooting range
13) Slaughterhouses
14) Solid waste disposal
If I had the luxury, I would argue on behalf of adding a fifteenth “undesirable land use†– government. I’m serious. I’m coulrophobic.
