North Carolina public schools continue to struggle with an abysmal high school dropout rate. More than 23,000 students dropped out of the state’s schools in 2006-2007. Two JLF experts shared their knowledge of the topic with North Carolina audiences. Lindalyn Kakadelis of the N.C. Education Alliance spent two afternoons discussing the issue with Lockwood Phillips’ “Viewpoints Radio” audience, while JLF Education Policy Analyst Terry Stoops discussed the dropout dilemma in a speech for the Spencer Women’s Club.
