Health Reform

posted on

The NC Legislature has taken steps towards reforming Medicaid by absorbing the counties’ share of the burden. In exchange, counties will have the option of oppressing their citizens more, either through what they purchase or where they live. As Becki Gray likes to tell me in her rosy-picture way, once Medicaid lies with the state, we can make inroads into improving the odd bedfellow. I just hope that we don’t turn our state program into a Sicko-style distopia.  There are many positive ways to change health care, and Joe Coletti knows a few. Joe points out one in the Heartland’s Health Care News.
