On January 1st the price of gas went up in the state, thanks to a
semiannual adjusted rate of 7 percent of the average wholesale price of
gasoline during a set, six-month period.  Some groups are opposing
the increase, some for economic reasons, others on principle.  In a recent Spotlight, JLF’s Joseph Coletti notes
that capping the tax won’t affect funding for roads as much as members
of the Legislature and the Governor claim.  Both issues have
piqued interest from groups and media sources.  Lockwood Phillips entertained Chad Adams and
Coletti on his talkradio show.  Bill LuMaye (NewsTalk 680AM) and
Brian O’Brian (WZNN-1350 in Asheville) also interviewed Coletti.
