As Triangle radio listeners travel between shopping destinations this evening, those tuned to Talk Radio WPTF will hear John Locke Foundation President John Hood serve as guest host for Bill LuMaye. Among Hood’s guests will be Carolina Journal Managing Editor Rick Henderson, who will discuss CJ‘s top stories during the holiday-shortened work week. Henderson also will preview the lead cover story from the next print edition of Carolina Journal, a follow-up report on the 13-year-old libel suit involving N.C. Attorney General Roy Cooper.

Two JLF staffers appeared on News 14 Carolina’s statewide “Capital Tonight” program this week. Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray discussed hot topics such as the implementation of North Carolina’s new tax reform plan. Director of Communications Mitch Kokai analyzed the latest Obamacare news and discussed N.C. lawmakers’ likely response to liberal groups’ pleas for a special legislative session on Medicaid expansion and unemployment insurance benefits. Gray also continues her twice-weekly radio updates on state politics and public policy for WTSB.

In addition to media air time, JLF experts have been busy traveling the state in recent weeks. N.C. Education Alliance Director Lindalyn Kakadelis‘ recent trip to Onslow County for a presentation on Common Core public school standards generated a preview article in the Jacksonville Daily News. The same publication also covered the event. (Lindalyn Kakadelis, director of the North Carolina Education Alliance, told those gathered at the meeting that now is the time to get their voices heard since there are six new members of the state board of education who did not approve the implementation. “When you live in America, if you make enough noise you can get things done,” she said.)
