One day before the president pitched his health-care proposals to Congress, he delivered a nationally televised address to schoolchildren. Jon Sanders satirized that speech in an American Thinker column, while Lindalyn Kakadelis of the N.C. Education Alliance discussed the speech with Lockwood Phillips for WTKF’s “Viewpoints Radio.” Kakadelis explained, “We all need to be respectful of the office of the President. However, I am not sure how respectful the President was of the classroom teachers and principals who use every minute possible to teach children. If the president wanted to talk to school children, then have a prime-time news conference. Have the White House market it for families to listen, and the children could listen with their parents.”
