While many of North Carolina’s 9.5 million residents hit the roads or headed to airports in the past week, some John Locke Foundation experts took to the airwaves. President John Hood guest hosted for WPTF Radio’s afternoon program again this week. That appearance followed both the Morganton News Herald and the Fayetteville Observer‘s “People’s Business” blog highlighting Hood’s analysis of state government job cuts. The “People’s Business” blog also noted Hood’s comments about electoral redistricting. Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray joins Hood again this weekend as a panelist on the “N.C. Spin” syndicated television program. FreedomWorks is promoting Gray’s upcoming appearances at a series of informational events for grass-roots activists. Meanwhile, Daren Bakst, Director of Legal and Regulatory Studies, appeared twice in the past week with Bill LuMaye on WPTF. Bakst discussed state environmental regulators’ role in helping establish the first regulations for greenhouse gases in North Carolina. Bakst led efforts to lodge official objections that could help stop — or at least delay — the regulations. Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor returned this week to Tara Servatius’ program on WBT Radio to discuss Mecklenburg County’s shrinking property values.
