Taylor recounted how the suspect in a recent shooting of a 14-year-old is a convicted cocaine dealer who’s faced nearly a dozen arrests since receiving a suspended sentence for the drug charges. Taylor’s work helps expose the details of government to the light of public scrutiny. Meanwhile, the Wilmington Star-News recently printed an opinion piece on the advantages of open government from JLF Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray. Gray also logged travel miles this week, speaking on the topic of property rights Tuesday to a group called Citizens Against the Ahoskie Bypass.
