In the 4th Quarter of 2006, we had about 325,000 visits to our various sites, yielding about 850,000 page views from roughly 165,000 separate visitors. That’s up 24 percent, 38 percent, and 14 percent respectively from 4th Quarter 2005, and up 80 percent, 122 percent, and 54 percent respectively from 4th Quarter 2004. Our strategy of adding other sites, including the regional pages and blogs, has succeeded in diversifying our offerings and attracting different kinds of readers who might not be interested in the general JLF page or CJ coverage of state issues. In the just-completed quarter, JLF.org and CJ.com accounted for about two-thirds of our total web traffic, compared to more than 90 percent a year ago and nearly 100 percent two years ago. Another success to report is our targeted op-ed program for the state’s eight metropolitan newspapers (Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, W-S, Asheville, Durham, Fayetteville, and Wilmington). We had 20 specialized op-eds published in these papers in 2006 (not counting a few other appearances from Carolina Beats and other non-targeted offerings). Our best outlets for the targeted op-eds were Greensboro and Charlotte.
