All I can add is the angle that Bank of Wachovia is going to lean hard on city officials to do whatever it takes to keep as many flights, particularly non-stops, flying out of Douglas as possible. In fact, I’d say this factor will have much more influence that any local airline job headcount that might move around in the process of a merger.

Recall that the city of Charlotte raised property taxes to pay for the $160 million Wachovia Arts Tower and we are very close to issuing public debt in order to help pay for a Uptown baseball park so the bankers can walk to a ball game.

Anyone who thinks Charlotte is gonna lose flights to Atlanta without a fight is just not paying attention.
