Pet owners, here is yet another ObamaCare tax that will soon be implemented. It’s called the medical devices tax and it will be imposed on equipment with a dual use — for people and animals. That means the cost of caring for your pet will go up and veterinarians try to find money to pay the ObamaCare tax.

Dr. Mark Lutschaunig is the director of the Governmental Relations Division of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“Congress never intended for this tax to impact veterinarian medicine and unfortunately it has, and I think that’s very unfortunate that veterinarian medicine now is subsidizing human health care,” said Dr. Lutschaunig.

Meantime, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is preparing to try to stave off ObamaCare’s devastating impacts.

Now Cruz is getting ready for another high-profile fight. This week, he will introduce an amendment he calls “Restore Growth First” as the Senate considers a continuing resolution to fund the government for the rest of the year. The amendment would cut funding for the implementation of Obamacare, at least until economic growth — currently at a terrible 0.1 percent — returns to its historic average of about 3.3 percent.

“My preference is to repeal Obamacare in its entirety,” says Cruz. “But at a minimum, it doesn’t make sense to implement Obamacare now. It would kill jobs, it would have an enormous negative impact on the economy.”
