On Dec. 4, the Chatham County Board of Elections will look into a variety of allegations about irregularities in the recent election. The protest comes from Tim Keim, who reportedly is the boyfriend of losing Pittsboro town commission candidate Michele Berger, who lost by 3 votes. Berger previously requested, and was granted, a recount, and the outcome of the race didn’t change. If you’ve followed this blog, you’ll know that Chatham County politics is extremely contentious, with those who want to defend property rights giving a stiff challlenge to the proponents of land use regulations, the land transfer tax, and restrictions on building.
