Hal’s query made me inquisitive. 43 counties had turnout in excess of 70%. Of those, 5 had turnouts in excess of 75%.
Franklin – 79.48%, Chatham – 77.36%, Davie – 76.18, Moore – 75.53% and Forsyth – 75.47. Honorable mentions go to Alleghany – 74.81% and Greene – 74.11 (the only ones to break 74%)
Only four counties performed worse than 60%. Those were Swain – 59.86%, Onslow – 57.79%, Robeson – 55.99% and Rockingham – 37.77%.
