Last night, Asheville City Council voted to tighten up the language of their sign ordinance to address issues where the code had been silent. Next, they approved a $1.65 million Regional Wayfinding Master Plan for putting up over 300 signs to help tourists navigate about town. Then, they approved a more aggressive campaign for selling ad space on buses. Opposed to all three measures, Councilman Dr. Carl Mumpower thought his peers were being a bit hypocritical.
